The one-off RM100 SARA appreciation aid is providing tangible financial relief to low-income families facing year-end cost pressures.
KOTA BHARU: The one-off RM100 Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) appreciation aid is providing tangible relief for low-income households.
Redeemable until December 31, the payment forms a crucial financial buffer against rising living costs.
Single mother Nor Rizan Muhamad, 48, said the aid has had a real impact on her family’s finances.
“Although the sum isn’t large, it is a real help,” she told Bernama.
She explained the saving allows her to redirect funds to other pressing needs.
Another recipient, Sukamal Rajib, 52, described the aid as an unexpected windfall.
He expressed hope that similar initiatives would continue in the future.
“I hope this assistance continues and keeps up with the cost of living,” he said.
Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan recently provided an update on the scheme’s uptake.
He said several states recorded an average SARA uptake rate of nearly 100%.
The government has faced no major challenges despite over 20 million consumer transactions.
