Two killed, four injured in Senai-Desaru Expressway crash

Two men died and five others were hurt, including an unconscious teen, in a three-vehicle collision on the Senai-Desaru Expressway early Friday.

JOHOR BAHRU: Two men were killed and five others injured in a three-vehicle collision on the Senai–Desaru Expressway early Friday morning.

The crash at KM 45.6 involved a Proton Saga, a Proton Wira and a Perodua Myvi.

Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Station operations commander PBK I Nazaruddin Yusof said a distress call was received at 5.37 am.

Eight personnel in one emergency vehicle were dispatched to the scene, arriving at 5.58 am.

“Two male victims, aged 21 and 19, who were trapped in the Proton Saga and Proton Wira respectively, were pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health personnel,” Nazaruddin said in a statement.

The rescue team extricated the two trapped victims from the wreckage.

The other casualties included an unconscious 14-year-old girl and four injured adults.

All casualties were handed over to the police and MOH for further action.

The rescue operation concluded at approximately 7.30 am.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
