PKNS allocates RM2 million for Seri Perantau Apartments power fix

PKNS channels RM2 million to restore electricity at Seri Perantau Apartments in Port Klang, with state government coordinating repairs and expediting JMB formation.

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) has allocated up to RM2 million to address a prolonged electricity disruption at Seri Perantau Apartments in Port Klang.

The outage, affecting approximately 600 residents, has persisted since 7 December.

Selangor Housing and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Borhan Aman Shah (pic) said the state government will coordinate the repair and restoration work, including appointing contractors.

A Corporate Social Responsibility initiative between PKNS and Tenaga Nasional Berhad will also be mobilised, involving contributions through the CERIA scheme.

“The state government is taking the electricity disruption at Seri Perantau Apartments seriously,” Borhan said in a statement.

He added that comprehensive and phased action is essential to ensure resident safety remains the top priority.

The state is also expediting the establishment of a Joint Management Body or Management Corporation for the building.

This move aims to ensure the apartment block is managed in a more organised and sustainable manner for the long term.

Authorities will continue to monitor developments and work with all relevant parties.

These include the State Treasury and the Ministry of Housing and Local Government to implement medium- and long-term solutions.
