Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri has successful minor surgery for an irregular heartbeat and is expected to return to duties within days.
LAZIO manager Maurizio Sarri has undergone successful minor heart surgery, the club confirmed on Monday.
The club stated that the procedure to address an irregular heartbeat “was successful”.
“The manager will resume his duties with the team in the coming days,” Lazio said in a statement.

The 66-year-old coach returned to the Rome club this summer following the resignation of Marco Baroni.
Sarri previously managed Lazio between 2021 and March 2024, leading the club to a second-place Serie A finish in 2023.
Before becoming a full-time coach, Sarri worked as a banker and is a known heavy smoker.
His managerial career includes guiding Empoli to Serie A promotion in 2014.
He later led his hometown club Napoli to two Serie A runner-up finishes.
Sarri also managed Chelsea to Europa League glory in 2019 and won the Serie A title with Juventus in 2020.
Lazio currently sit eighth in Serie A with 24 points from 17 games. – AFP
