Sabah’s Chief Minister announces the state is prepared to launch the holistic SMJ 2.0 development plan in 2026, focusing on inclusive prosperity and sustained progress.
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah state government is fully prepared to implement the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development plan in 2026.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the holistic, inclusive and comprehensive plan aims to ensure sustained prosperity and a brighter future for the state.
He stated that 2025 was a good year built on the solid foundation of the SMJ 1.0 development roadmap.
“The state government is continuing this trajectory through SMJ 2.0 by strengthening our commitment to unity, prosperity and inclusive development,” Hajiji said in his New Year message.
He expressed appreciation for the people’s renewed mandate to continue leading the state.
Hajiji described this trust as a great responsibility to be carried out with full accountability.
“With this renewed mandate, the state government remains committed to strengthening governance, ensuring continued political stability and driving comprehensive development for the well-being of the people,” he said.
He noted that sustained efforts over the past five years to create stability have produced tangible results and delivered benefits.
The Chief Minister also extended New Year greetings to all Sabahans.
He expressed hope that all would be blessed with good health, well-being and success in the coming year.
