France confirms eight citizens missing after a fire at a bar in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, which killed around 40 people.
PARIS: France has stated that eight of its citizens are missing following a devastating fire at a bar in the Swiss mountain resort of Crans-Montana.
The blaze on Thursday killed approximately 40 people, according to Swiss authorities.
In a statement, the French foreign ministry said it could not rule out that French nationals were among the deceased.

French President Emmanuel Macron spoke to his Swiss counterpart earlier in the day to offer assistance.
The ministry added that three survivors of the fire had been transferred to French hospitals.
Further transfers of other survivors are currently underway. – Reuters
