JDT opens 2026 Super League with 2-0 victory over Selangor

Johor Darul Ta’zim beat Selangor 2-0 to stay unbeaten, while KL City secured a 4-2 win over Immigration FC in the latest Super League matches.

PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) maintained their unbeaten start to the Super League season with a 2-0 away win over Selangor.

The Southern Tigers opened the scoring after just seven minutes through a deflected shot from Nacho Mendez.

Selangor responded with several dangerous attacks in search of an equaliser. Striker Chrigor Moraes was denied in a one-on-one situation by JDT goalkeeper Ahmad Syihan Hazmi in the 17th minute.

Winger Muhamad Faisal Abdul Halim also missed the target for the Red Giants later in the first half. JDT doubled their lead late in the match through Bergson Da Silva to seal the victory.

In another match, KL City defeated Immigration FC 4-2 at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium. Captain Paulo Josue gave the hosts a first-half lead with a goal in the 31st minute.

Immigration FC turned the game around early in the second half with goals from Fadzeul Danel Nizam and Eduardo Sosa. Josue equalised for KL City with his second goal in the 68th minute.

Immigration were reduced to 10 men when Mior Dani Armin Mior Ariffin received a second yellow card. Safawi Rasid and Kpah Sherman then scored to secure a 4-2 win for KL City.
