Man shot dead at Banting fast-food restaurant

A man in his 30s was killed in a shooting at a Banting fast-food outlet, with police investigating the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code

SHAH ALAM: A man was killed in a shooting incident at a fast-food restaurant in Banting, Kuala Langat last night.

Kuala Langat Police chief Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said police received a report on the incident at 11.05 pm.

“The Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters Control Centre received information from MERS 999 regarding a shooting incident at a restaurant in Banting, which resulted in the death of a local man, who was in his 30s,” he said in a statement today.

A video showing a man lying unconscious on the restaurant floor, with several bullet casings scattered at the scene, had earlier gone viral on social media.

The case has been classified as murder and is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
