JEMPOL: Felda Investment Corp (FIC), the investment arm of Federal Land Development Authority (Felda), has acquired Selesa Beach Resort Port Dickson for RM40 million.
Felda Chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad said FIC took over the hotel from JCorp Hotels and Resorts Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Johor Corporation, on Nov 1.
He said the hotel would be known as Grand Beach Resort Port Dickson after upgrading and refurbishment works.
"We believe in the hotel's ability to generate profit from its operations to Felda," he told Bernama when visiting the Jempol Parliamentary Service Centre here.
Mohd Isa, who is also a Member of Parliament for Jempol, said it was business as usual at the hotel despite undergoing upgrading and refurbishment works to give it a new image.
Asked whether Selesa Beach Resort's employees would be retained, he said some of them would be absorbed into the new team while vacant posts would be filled by new staff.
FIC has 10 properties within and outside the country, including Grand Plaza Service Apartments in London.
Set up in July 2013, FIC undertakes non-plantation related businesses such as property development and hospitality services that may benefit the company and its stakeholders in the long run. – Bernama
