One dead, seven hurt in accident on Jalan Ipoh-Lumut

IPOH: A woman was killed and seven others were hurt in a collision involving two vehicles at the Bukit Kledang Traffic Light Junction, on Jalan Ipoh-Lumut, here, last night.
Rawaidah Mad Saad, 32, was killed on the spot after she was thrown out of a Malaysian Armed Forces ambulance while seven others were injured in the accident between an ambulance and a car.
Her body was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here, for a post-mortem. The seven who were injured, including two from the car, were also sent to the same hospital.
Ipoh District Traffic and Public order chief DSP Wan Shaharuddin Wan Omar, when contacted by Bernama here, this morning, said police were investigating to determine which vehicle had the right of way, in the incident at 7pm.
He said preliminary investigation found that the ambulance was heading to HRPB from Lumut with Rawaidah's mother, Rohani Abdullah, 62, who had been referred to HRPB following an accident on Friday evening. – Bernama
