Datuk Azlin laid to rest in Kajang

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak today attended funeral prayers for the late Datuk Azlin Alias, who was his principal private secretary, at Surau Saujana Impian, here.
The funeral prayers were held after the Zohor prayers was led by Chief Imam of Masjid Putra, Abdul Manaf Mat after his body was brought from his house in Impian Golf and Country Club, Kajang.
Former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and several cabinet ministers also joined the prayers.
Azlin was laid to rest at the Kampung 13 Islamic Cemetery, Jalan Cheras, Kajang at 2.30pm.
Azlin's second child, Amirul Akmal, 19, said the news of his father's death was shocking, and the last he spoke to him was on Tuesday night.
"He called me on Tuesday to wish me luck and told me to study hard for my exams. I never expected it to be my last conversation with him," said Amirul, who is currently studying for A Levels majoring in accounting in UEM Foundation College (KYUEM).
Raja Azli Raja Shahrom, a close friend said Azlin will forever be remembered as a very friendly and humble person.
"I have known him for many years now, even before he was working in the Prime Minister's office, and he had always been the same.
"In fact, he is so low-profile and humble that sometimes he prefers us not to call him by the 'Datuk' designation," he told reporters today.
Meanwhile, the bodies of four victims have been claimed by family members from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital mortuary while that of the pilot and operation assistant is waiting to be claimed by next of kin.
