PUTRAJAYA: A new family-oriented theme park, Skyrides Festivals Park Putrajaya, will be officially open to the public on Labour Day (May 1).
Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz said the theme park is the new top tourism destination for Malaysia Year of Festivals (MyFEST) 2015.
"We are aiming to attract 29.4 million visitor arrivals and RM89 billion tourism receipts," he said after the launching ceremony in Putrajaya on Wednesday.
Among other attractions, the park features "SkyRides Balloon", Malaysia's first and largest tethered balloon ride that offers an exhilarating experience 120m in the air.
"As a new attraction in Malaysia, SkyRides Balloon is set to entice foreign tourists to visit Malaysia to experience the thrilling ride, which is built over water," Mohamed Nazri said.
Other interesting activities at the park include SkyWarrior Rainforest Challenge, SkyKids, SkyGallery, SkyDemo, SkyStage, SkyTastes and SkyCruise.
Fees are only charged for SkyRides Balloon and SkyWarrior Rainforest Challenge.
