Penang govt should stop provoking people's emotion: Teng

GEORGE TOWN: The DAP-led Penang government should stop provoking the emotions of the people to create a feeling of distrust and hatred for the federal government, said Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Teng Chang Yeow.
He said that even though the DAP-led government came into power eight years ago, they were still finding faults with the federal government for their own failures.
Teng said Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's allegations that Penang was discriminated and did not receive any allocations from the federal government was completely untrue.
"In a recent statement, the Penang Federal Action Council chairman, Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Osman confirmed that the federal government allocated RM5.7 billion to Penang under the 11th Malaysia Plan.
"In fact under Budget 2016, a total of RM768 million was allocated to Penang, yet Lim continued to say Penang was marginalised and did not get any allocations from the federal government," he said in a statement here today. – Bernama
