BUKIT MERTAJAM: Penang police will cooperate with their Sabah counterpart to get clues on the death threat letter to Gerakan secretary-general and Simpang Rengam MP Liang Teck Meng and its first state vice-chairman Oh Tong Keong.
State police chief Datuk Abdul Ghafar Rajab said they were currently working with Sabah police to shed light on the matter.
"We liaise and work with them closely," he told reporters after handing a cheque for RM10,000 to the Yee Ran Jing Sheh Handicapped Children Association home at Bukit Tengah today.
He said an investigation paper on the matter has been opened to investigate the threat and motive behind it.
He added the letter with a 60 sen stamp was posted from Kota Kinabalu on Apr 11 and a police report was lodged on April 28.
It was reported that the letter was found in the mailbox of state Gerakan headquarters in Jalan Macalister after the Gerakan leaders were questioned over the purchase of Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's bungalow under market value.
