Paragliders had no approval from DCA to fly over Dewan Jubli Perak: Police

KUALA KANGSAR: Police have received a report claiming paragliders were seen above the Dewan Jubli Perak, here, where the nomination process for the Kuala Kangsar Parliamentary by-election took place yesterday.

A police spokesperson for the by-election, ACP Shaharon Anuar Abdul Latiff said preliminary investigations revealed that there was no approval issued by the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) to paragliders in the area.

"This was confirmed by an officer at the Ipoh Air Traffic Control Centre and no notice to airmen was issued by the DCA. Efforts to track the suspects are ongoing," said Shaharon Anuar, who is also Perak police contingent management division head, in a statement here today.

He said the case was being investigated under the 143 Civil Aviation Regulation 2016. — Bernama
