A drone concern

PETALING JAYA: First-person view (FPV's) or Remote controlled (RC) aircrafts have been a point of contention around the world with many countries imposing strict regulations on them while some have imposed an out-right ban.
Countries like France, Germany, South Africa and Romania among others have banned it with South Africa imposing prison terms for up to 10 years.
Some countries allow it but it is heavily regulated by their Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) such as the United Kingdom, Croatia, the US and Australia to name a few.
A few countries have imposed regulations stipulating that it must not fly over or within 150m of any congested area, within 50m of any person and during take-off or landing, a small unmanned surveillance aircraft must not be flown within 30m of any person.
In Canada, one must obtain a license to manoeuvre these FPV's.
Checks by theSun at a local hobby shop revealed that a small 900mm aircraft retails for about RM500 with a total flight altitude of 1km above ground and it can go up to RM10,000 to RM20,000 which is 2m in length and weighs above 10kg.
