Man burnt to death in house fire

BELURAN: A man was burnt to death in a fire which destroyed a house in Kampung Kubambangan Paitan yesterday.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department's operations centre, in a statement today, said the department received a distress call at 7.42pm, but due to the distance of the location, which was about 195km from the Kota Marudu fire and rescue station, firemen only arrived at the scene about three hours later.
By the time the firemen arrived, the two-storey house was gutted and also destroyed in the fire were two cars, a Honda Accord and a Proton Aeroback, it said.
The victim was identified as Ritaudin Ghapur, 31.
The body was then handed over to the police for further action.
The cause of the fire was being investigated. — Bernama
