26 drug addict's nabbed in Kuala Muda

KEPALA BATAS: Police detained 26 drug addicts and seized various types of drugs in an integrated operation at Kampung Bakau Tua, Kuala Muda here early today.
Northern Seberang Perai District Police chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor said all the men, aged between 19 and 50, were picked up in the 13-hour operation, involving the National Anti-Drug Agency, from 4 pm yesterday.
The drugs seized were heroin, syabu and Eramin 5 worth RM1,159, he said here.
Meanwhile, police detained five suspected drug traffickers, aged between 18 and 33, and seized cannabis worth RM2,000 in a raid on a shack in Taman Tun Hussein Onn, Seberang Jaya yesterday.
Central Seberang Perai District Police chief ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said all the suspects, believed to be members of a drug syndicate, were picked up while allegedly trading for the substance.
The suspects, who tested positive for drugs, were being remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation, he said. — Bernama
