Call for funds for SJK (C) Manong
EU YAN SANG has officiated the 14th run of its "One Year One School" annual charity project. Established in 2005, the project was initiated to raise funds, either for a secondary or primary school, to aid in its set up across software, hardware or operating costs, with the aim to allow teachers to teach, and students to learn, in more conducive environments.
This year, SJK (C) Manong in Kangsar, Perak made the selection. Built back in 1937, the over-80-year-old school has played its role in nurturing and educating leaders and future leaders of society and the nation.
Due to wear and tear over the number of years, maintenance and repair works were evident. In a dilapidated state - it was reported that every corner of the building had eroded, termite infested, and several parts of its ceiling were leaking and severely damaged, and wooden boards and beams had collapsed. Although considered a "dangerous building", the school was still being used to carry out classes.
Hence, it was a blessing for Eu Yan Sang to have come to the rescue. The company has pledged to help raise funds through the sale of its Chicken Essence with Gingko Biloba Extract.
Those who wish to make contributions can make out their cheques to "Tabung Pembangunan SJKC Manong" and drop it into the "One Year One School" donation boxes placed at all Eu Yan Sang outlets in Malaysia. Direct remittance is also accepted and can be debited to BSN Account No: 0824629000044125.
"Eu Yan Sang hosts charity events each year, comprising the 'Bucket of Gold' and 'One Year One School' campaigns. These are part of the company's CSR undertakings, aligned with the company's core principles of caring for mankind and giving back to society," said Eu Yan Sang managing director Eric Chiu.
The charity drive ends Nov 18. For further information or inquiries, call 1300-888-213 or visit www.euyansang.com.my or facebook.com/euyansangmalaysiapage
