PETALING JAYA: CIMB Bank Bhd garnered five awards at the Malaysian e-Payments Excellence Awards (MEEA) 2017, an event that recognises the outstanding achievements of banks, businesses and government agencies that have contributed significantly towards growth of e-payments in Malaysia.
In a statement yesterday, the bank said it emerged the winner in the categories of Best JomPAY Bank, Best Customer Experience for JomPAY, JomPAY Innovative Award, Best IBG Bank and FPX Innovative Award.
"We are honoured to be recognised as the Best JomPAY Bank for two consecutive years, which is a testament to our continuous efforts to be at the forefront of digital banking in Malaysia, its group chief executive Tengku Datuk Sri Zafrul Aziz said.
Tengku Zafrul said the bank is committed to driving e-payments by providing its customers and the public alternative channels to transact reliably, securely and efficiently at their convenience.
"We are focused on migrating more businesses and organisations to e-payments by being the key enabler in Malaysia's journey to embrace a digital economy," he added.
The MEEA 2017 was organised by the Malaysian Electronic Clearing Corp Sdn Bhd (MyClear), a wholly-owned unit of Bank Negara Malaysia that operates Malaysia's key payment systems and financial market infrastructures.
