Harith gets into the science of life

FUNNYMAN Harith Iskandar is getting serious – but not so serious that he couldn’t state tongue-in-cheek during a press conference: “If my late mother was alive, and I told her that I was hosting a science show, she would slap me and tell me to stop lying!”
Harith was speaking at a press conference (pix, left) about his new show, Got Science?, the first BBC Earth original to be commission in Southeast Asia.
The eight-episode series explores and explains the science of everyday life using reason, logic, and rationale.
Among its topics are food health, fitness, sport, anatomy and technology – all put together in Harith’s quirky, funny style.
Got Science? premiered on BBC Earth last Tuesday at 8.05pm with two episodes: What’s in Your Food and Inside Your Body.
Harith will explore It’s Not Just You, about how we are more similar than we think, and Science of Sport, tonight at the same time.
Describing his experience shooting for the series, Harith said: “I learned more during the two or three days of shooting than I learned my entire school life.”
Harith believes his oldest child Zander, who wants to be both a scientist and a superhero, will enjoy the series.
Got Science? is available not only in Malaysia but also 11 other Asian countries on BBC Earth, one of five BBC roster of channels available on unifi TV.
The programmes from these channels are also available on the online platform, BBC Player, via streaming and downloading the content to mobile devices.
Previously only available to subscribers of unifi TV’s Ultimate pack, BBC Player will now be open to all unifi subscribers and pre-unifi (Streamyx) customers for free for 30 days starting today.
