Idris Jala arrives at Menara Felda to gather information

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Idris Jala said he is in the process of gathering information before taking further action in solving the Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) crisis.
"Still in the midst of collecting information. So far we have not set up any committee," he said refusing to comment further when met by reporters at Menara Felda lobby here today.
The government had yesterday appointed Idris as a neutral party to gather facts and resolve the crisis besetting FGV after four individuals including its chief executive officer Datuk Zakaria Arshad were instructed to go on leave.
Idris was seen arriving at Menara Felda where FGV headquarters is located, at 2.33pm and leaving the premises at about 3.40pm.
Earlier a team from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) was seen entering Menara Felda at about 10am and were still in the premises in the evening.

Apart from Zakaria, the others involved were FGV group chief financial officer Tifli Mohd Talha, Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd senior general manager Kamarzaman Karim and FGV Trading chief executive officer Ahmad Salman Omar.
Yesterday, Zakaria was at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to hand over documents related to FGV and to give a statement.
FGV had notified Bursa Malaysia that Zakaria would be on leave while an investigation into a number of transactions undertaken by its subsidiary, Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd was being carried out.
Zakaria was appointed as FGV chief executive officer April 1 last year. — Bernama
