MACC team at FIC Balai Felda
KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) team was seen entering Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) office here today, believed to be over the purchase of a four star hotel in Kensington, London, between 2013 and 2015.
Some uniformed officers from MACC arrived at Balai Felda here at 10.30am in two separate vehicles.
On Friday MACC chief commissioner Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad confirmed that an investigation paper into the purchase had been opened.
Dzulkifli added that based on early information, FIC is believed to have purchased the hotel at a price that is far higher than its original value which caused FIC to lose millions of ringgit.
He said that the investigations are being carried out to confirm whether there was any bribery or abuse of power in purchasing the hotel way above market value.
