GEORGE TOWN: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has yet to receive any report on the allegation that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had RM230million in his bank account two decades ago.
Its chief commissioner Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad said the commission has yet to obtain anything at the moment and will only start a probe if it receives a constructive report.
He said the agency could not investigate matters based on hearsay, reports must come with concrete proof.
"This is the process," he said during a press conference when asked on the allegation made by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad against Zahid.
Dzulkifli was speaking after closing the annual general meeting of Malaysia Corruption Watch (MCW) in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
He said MCW is an agency to assist MACC in fighting corruption and urged public to channel their complaint to MCW as well.
On a separate matter, Dzulkifli also welcomed any government agencies nor non-governmental organisations (NGOs) which keen to take the anti-corruption pledge.
"They are welcomed to do so," he said.
Dzulkifli added investigations into Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) is still ongoing.
"Wait and see," he quipped when pressed by reporters if more arrests linked to FIC will be made.
