MRCB, Gamuda, YTL shares rise after appointment as project delivery partners for HSR
PETALING JAYA: Shares of Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB), Gamuda Bhd and YTL Corp Bhd were higher this morning after they were named project delivery partners (PDPs) for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) civil works portion.
At midday, MRCB’s share price was 2.72% or 2.5 sen higher at 94.5 sen with 15.76 million shares traded.
Gamuda’s share price rose 1.81% or 9 sen to RM5.06 with 2.95 million shares traded while YTL Corp saw its share price rise 2.16% or 3 sen to RM1.42 with 4.60 million shares done.
Yesterday, MyHSR Corp Sdn Bhd announced the appointment of the MRCB Gamuda consortium and the Syarikat Pembenaan Yeoh Tiong Lay Sdn Bhd - TH Properties Sdn Bhd consortium (YTL - THP) as its PDPs for the HSR civil works portion.
The MRCB Gamuda consortium has been selected for the northern portion of the alignment while YTL - THP has been selected for the southern portion.
MyHSR Corp expects to award the contracts upon conclusion of negotiations with the PDPs.
