M'sia deeply concerned over deteriorating humanitarian situation in Syria

PUTRAJAYA: Deeply concerned over the continued deteriorating humanitarian situation in Syria, Malaysia stands in solidarity with the international community in addressing the issue.
Wisma Putra in a statement today, said Malaysia echoed the statement by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on March 16, expressing his profound regret that the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2401, concerning the cessation of hostilities in Syria, had not been implemented.
It said Malaysia urged the conflicting parties in Syria to adhere to the cessation of hostilities.
"These parties must also fulfil their obligations in enabling unfettered humanitarian access to reach those in need, critically sick and wounded," it added.
Wisma Putra said Malaysia also called for all parties to protect the innocent lives and prevent mass casualties. — Bernama
