Myanmar man stabbed to death by compatriot

BUKIT MERTAJAM: A Myanmar national died after being stabbed by his compatriot during a quarrel at their factory dormitory on Jalan Bukit Tambun, Juru, here, last night.
Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said in the incident at about 8.45pm, the victim known as Sai Ko Ko, in his late 20s, was believed to have gotten into a fight with his colleague due to a misunderstanding, while they were drinking alcohol at the hostel.
The suspect fled the scene with another friend after the incident, he said, adding a CCTV managed to record the entire ordeal.
Initial investigations found both the victim and suspect did not possess any personal documents or permits to work at the onion factory, where they were based for the past two months.
Six local and foreign individuals, aged between 30 and 58, were arrested in connection with the case, and the police are still hunting for the suspect and his friend, he added. — Bernama
