Pregnant woman charged with hurting husband

PETALING JAYA: A woman who is two-month pregnant pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court here to a charge of causing hurt on her husband.
M. Chandrakala, 22, was charged with hurting R. Elangovan, 23, at a field at Jalan Nuri 7/4, Kelana Jaya here, at 11am last April 23.
The charge, under Section 323 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 326A of the same law, provides and imprisonment for up to two years, if found guilty.
Magistrate Atiqah Abdul Karim @ Husaini allowed the woman bail of RM1,000 with one surety and set June 7 for mention.
Deputy public prosecutor Abu Arsalnaa Zainal Abidin prosecuted, while Chandrakala was represented by lawyer Datin Raj Preet Kaur. — Bernama
