Senior citizen jailed 12 months for outraging modesty of sister-in-law

KUALA LUMPUR: A senior citizen was jailed for 12 months by the Ampang Magistrate's Court after being found guilty of outraging the modesty of his sister-in-law at a kindergarten early last year.
Magistrate Haslinda A.Raof imposed the sentence on the 64-year-old accused who was a Quran teacher at the same kindergarten after he pleaded guilty to the offence.
The court ordered the accused to undergo the sentence from the day he was arrested on March 16.
The man was charged with outraging the modesty of the 38-year-old victim, who was also working at the same kindergarten, by instructing her to perform an obscene act in a room at the kindergarten in Pandan Indah, here at 7.15 pm on Jan 23 last year.
He was charged under Section 377D of the Penal Code (Act 574) which carries a maximum jail term of two years. — Bernama
