Two company directors charged with CBT of nearly RM70k


PETALING JAYA: A former Youth head of the Malaysian Retail Chain Association (MRCA) and his Chinese wife pleaded not guilty in the sessions court here today to criminal breach of trust (CBT), involving RM69,047.
Datuk Lee Kim Hock, 35, and his wife, Zhong Pei Ling, 32, both directors of Myorto Footcare Sdn Bhd and entrusted with with 13 cheques for RM69,047, were alleged to have used the property for their personal benefit.
They were alleged to have committed the offence at Block A, 10 Boulevard, Jalan Cempaka, Kg Sg Kayu Ara here in January last year.
The couple was charged under Section 409 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same law, and face imprisonment for up to 20 years, and whipping and fine, if found guilty.
The prosecution, conducted by deputy public prosecutor Asyraf Ashy'ari Kamaruzaman offered bail at RM15,000 in one surety each for the couple, but their lawyer, Manjit Singh, requested for a minimum bail amount, saying that his clients had to work as they had a family to support.
Judge Mabel S. Muttiah then set bail at RM7,000 in one surety each and also ordered the couple to surrender their passports to the court and to report themselves at a police station once a month.
