Wanita Umno's important role in GE14

SANDAKAN: The Wanita Umno wing will play an important role for the party during the coming general election, said Umno Supreme Council member Tan Sri Musa Aman.
Musa, who is also Sabah Chief Minister, said Umno's top leadership, especially party president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak acknowledged the role of the wing in Umno's struggle.
He said Wanita Umno was the backbone of Umno, like the other two party wings, Youth and Puteri.
"The support of these three wings has always been important to Umno and Barisan Nasional, especially for the coming 14th general election," he said when launching Majlis Kembara Ibu Terbaik Bangsa PRU-14 (KITA-14) Umno Zone Five, a community programme by Umno here today.
Also present were Wanita Umno head Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil and Sabah Wanita Umno chief Datuk Armani Mahiruddin.

Musa said he was confident Wanita Umno would be effective in ensuring that Sabah continued to be a stronghold for Umno and BN.
He also described Wanita Umno's Jalinan Rakyat (JR) as an effective way of getting close to the people, especially voters at the grassroots level.
She also urged the movement's machinery at all levels to ensure that the JR programme was effectively implemented according to what was set out by the party leadership.
She said this would ensure that the machinery was smooth during GE14 to ensure BN's victory. — Bernama
