Korea’s Jeunghun Wang made a statement return as he fired an eight-under-par 64 to seize the opening-day lead at the Moutai Singapore Open, marking the event’s comeback after a two-year absence.The 30-year-old carded nine birdies and a lone bogey at the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) — hosting the tournament for the first time in 25 years. Wang, who last lifted a title almost eight years ago, said he’s eager to end his drought after a strong all-round display, especially with his “hot putting” and “solid ball-striking.”He leads by one shot ahead of Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Gunn Charoenkul, as well as Kieran Vincent from Zimbabwe, all tied at 65.
