Mangsa banjir di Kedah menurun kepada 97 orang

ALOR SETAR: Jumlah mangsa banjir di Kedah menurun kepada 97 orang daripada 28 keluarga setakat 8 malam ini berbanding 117 orang daripada 34 keluarga petang tadi.

Timbalan Pengarah Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APM) Kedah, Mejar (PA) Mohd Suhaimi Mohd Zain berkata kesemua mangsa ditempatkan di pusat pemindahan sementara (PPS) Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Alor Merah di daerah Kota Setar.

Sementara itu, laman web Public Infobanjir Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran (JPS) memaklumkan Sungai Kedah di Jambatan Lebuhraya melepasi paras amaran manakala Sungai Anak Bukit di Jambatan TAR melebihi paras waspada.

Sementara itu, di Perak, sebuah PPS di Sekolah Kebangsaan Changkat Lobak dibuka susulan banjir yang melanda daerah Kerian, menempatkan 33 orang daripada sembilan keluarga.

Sekretariat Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Bencana Negeri memaklumkan kesemua mangsa yang dipindahkan dari Kampung Matang Tengah itu berlindung di PPS berkenaan sejak 2 petang tadi.
