PM Anwar ke Korea Selatan hadiri Mesyuarat Pemimpin Ekonomi APEC

Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim berlepas ke Gyeongju untuk Mesyuarat Pemimpin Ekonomi APEC 2025 bagi perkukuh kerjasama ekonomi serantau.

KUALA LUMPUR: Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim berlepas ke Korea Selatan pada Khamis untuk menghadiri Mesyuarat Pemimpin-Pemimpin Ekonomi Mesyuarat Kerjasama Ekonomi Asia Pasifik (APEC).

“Misi Diplomasi MADANI diteruskan ke Gyeongju, Republik Korea, bagi menyertai Mesyuarat Pemimpin-Pemimpin Ekonomi APEC,” katanya menerusi hantaran di laman media sosial beliau hari ini.

Anwar yang juga Menteri Kewangan berkata sidang ini menjadi medan penting untuk memperkukuh jaringan kerjasama ekonomi serantau, memperluas perdagangan yang adil, serta memperkasa agenda kemampanan dan kesejahteraan sejagat.

“Mohon doa dan dukungan agar perjalanan serta urusan delegasi Malaysia dipermudah, Insya-Allah,” kata beliau.

Mesyuarat Pemimpin-Pemimpin Ekonomi APEC 2025 diadakan di bandar pesisir pantai Gyeongju di tenggara Korea Selatan. Ini merupakan kali kedua Korea Selatan menjadi tuan rumah mesyuarat APEC selepas kali pertama pada tahun 2005.

Menteri Luar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan dan Menteri Pelaburan, Perdagangan dan Industri Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz, yang sudahpun berada di Gyeongju mewakili Malaysia pada mesyuarat peringkat Menteri.

Tema APEC 2025 ialah “Membina Esok yang Mampan” dengan Korea Selatan memberi tumpuan kepada kemajuan perdagangan serantau, kecerdasan buatan (AI) dan kemampanan, termasuk mesyuarat peringkat menteri yang akan membincangkan topik seperti kesihatan, ekonomi digital serta perusahaan kecil dan sederhana (PKS).

Kali terakhir Malaysia menjadi tuan rumah APEC adalah pada 2020 yang julung kalinya diadakan dalam format maya susulan penularan pandemik COVID-19. – Bernama
