DHL Supply Chain expands operations in Senai Airport City to support growing demand in industrial, logistics ecosystem

SENAI: DHL Supply Chain Malaysia (DHL) has officially commenced operations at its new Malaysia South Region Hub 2 in the Senai Airport City Free Zone, marking the company’s second major logistics investment in Johor.

The commencement follows the opening of DHL South Region Hub 1 in April 2025, which has since reached full occupancy among high-tech multinational corporations (MNCs).

DHL South Region Hub 1 houses the company’s regional Control Tower capability, providing centralised operational coordination, real-time end-to-end visibility, and multi-country supply chain monitoring across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

This capability enables customers to optimise complex supply chains while enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making across the region.

Completed within one year from its groundbreaking in April 2025, the 18,660-square-metre DHL South Region Hub 2 expands DHL’s capacity to support Senai Airport City’s industrial and logistics ecosystem, particularly in advanced manufacturing and technology-driven supply chains.

The facility is fully occupied by key investors in Senai Airport City, reflecting strong demand for integrated logistics infrastructure in the zone.

DHL South Region Hub 2 incorporates several sustainability features, including solar panels, smart LED lighting, and rainwater harvesting solutions, as part of DHL’s global sustainability commitment and Senai Airport City’s sustainability and low-carbon emission development objectives.

The opening event was attended by DHL Supply Chain Southeast Asia CEO Edwin Wong, DHL Supply Chain Malaysia managing director Mario Lorenz, Senai Airport City management team member Claudia Wong, and key investors in Senai Airport City, including Wiwynn, Shenghuabo, and Mercedes-Benz.

The sequential development of DHL South Region Hub 1 and Hub 2, supporting the integrated industrial and logistics ecosystem in Senai Airport City, reflects the natural multiplier effect of the Senai Airport City’s ecosystem in driving broader business activity and economic growth in Johor.
