US President Donald Trump commended Malaysia’s security and professionalism during the ASEAN Summit, personally thanking police officials.

CYBERJAYA: United States President Donald Trump praised Malaysia’s security management and professionalism during the recent 47th ASEAN Summit.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed that Trump personally expressed admiration for Malaysia’s efficiency during his official visit to Kuala Lumpur.

Trump specifically requested to meet Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail to convey his appreciation directly.

“Our entire team, especially the Royal Malaysia Police, demonstrated an impressive level of professionalism,” Anwar told reporters.

The Prime Minister highlighted that Chinese Premier Li Qiang was also genuinely impressed by Malaysia’s security management capabilities.

Anwar made these remarks after launching the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park 2 here today.

The event was attended by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Deputy Local Government Development Minister Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu.

Anwar noted that Malaysia’s ability to manage high-profile international events has drawn strong global attention.

He shared that representatives from one of the world’s largest New York investment groups expressed increased confidence in Malaysia.

“They already have initial investments here but are now even more impressed with our capabilities,” he added.

The investment group’s enhanced confidence stemmed from observing Malaysia’s infrastructure and operational competencies during the summit. – Bernama
