The post quickly gained traction across social media, with many netizens expressing disbelief that some families would leave their elderly relatives in hospitals simply for convenience, while many healthcare workers shared similar experiences in the comments.
“Seriously? They just drop them off like that?” one user called sxxooda asked seemingly baffled.
“People actually do this, believe it or not — especially during festive seasons.
“Some parents have been sick for a long time, but their children dump them at the hospital because they don’t want to care for them and just want to go back to celebrate.
“When the patients develop severe bedsores, of course, they have to be admitted.
“But once they’re well enough to be discharged, the staff call the family — and everyone suddenly goes silent or stops answering the phone,” reina.sofeea shared.
“Exactly, sometimes they come just for a scan that takes around half an hour, but their children go off to shopping malls. Meanwhile, the parents are left hungry while waiting for them. Hmm,” ateqaaaaaaa echoed.
“Omg this irritates my soul!! I’m so sad to see this happening especially during the festive season. It happens here as well. So heart breaking!” simzygr wrote.
