A Malaysian renting a room for just five months has taken to social media to share his growing frustration after discovering that his housemate has been secretly himself to his drinks.
“I’m not exactly stingy, but disappointed with my housemate’s behaviour who likes to help himself to other people’s drinks,” shared Wan.
In a post on Threads, he revealed that the first incident involved his iced Nescafé, which had apparently been sipped. Curious to see what would happen next, Wan decided to run a little experiment. After prayers, he left his carbonated drink in the fridge before leaving the house.
When he returned, he noticed the drink had gone down slightly — proving his suspicions right. Wan even shared a before-and-after picture showing the difference in the amount left in the bottle.
Netizens were quick to react, with some offering humorous solutions and others relating to his shared-living woes.
“Put some stagnant drain water in a bottle, add a little energy drink to mask the smell problem solved.”
“Just put laxatives in it so they’ll get the message. Not to be mean, but to teach them a lesson for stealing drinks.”
While a few others suggested he buy a small fridge and place a padlock.
“It’s okay, just let it go but next time, when you get your salary, buy a small fridge for your room and lock it. That’ll teach them a lesson so they can’t take other people’s stuff.”
