“It’s just one day. ONE DAY” – M’sian woman defends junk food at school year-end party

“Can those making an issue about not bringing junk food to year-end school parties please just be quiet?”

A woman has gone viral after calling out critics who complained about junk food being served at a school year-end celebration.

In a post shared by Threads user @ftnnbella, she questioned why some parents were making a big issue out of junk food.

“Can those making an issue about not bringing junk food to year-end school parties please just be quiet? It’s just one day. ONE DAY ONLY. It’s not every day.

“How many minutes do the kids even eat it for — why make so much noise about it?”

She also pointed out that not all parents can afford to prepare or buy large amounts of fruits or healthier food options.

“It’s a one-day issue, yet you’re panicking as if your child eats that stuff every single day.”

A discussion on junk food at school year-end parties continues to draw attention online, with parents sharing differing perspectives on how such situations should be handled.

One parent, @isterigjie, said, “My child’s junk food from last year’s year-end party is still kept by me. The children were asked to bring everything home in a plastic bag because the school did not allow them to eat it,” she wrote. “It’s not a problem for me — we brought it home, kept it, and ate it together at another time.”

Another user, @nana_the_chipmunk, said the main issue was not about banning junk food entirely, but about educating children.

“If a child is taught well, they won’t take it, or they’ll give it to someone else, or simply not eat it,” she commented.
