“Once we received the BAP, we immediately changed the money into small denominations for our child’s school expenses.”
A Malaysian parent has drawn attention online after sharing how she exchanged RM150 Bantuan Awal Persekolahan (BAP) into small denominations to be used as daily school allowance for her child.
In a post shared on Threads, the parent wrote that upon receiving the aid, she went straight to change the notes into RM1 bills, making it easier to manage her child’s school allowance.
“Once we received the BAP, we immediately changed the money into small denominations for our child’s school expenses. Thank you, Madani government,” she wrote.
The post resonated with many parents, who shared that they had done the same, using the aid not only for daily pocket money but also for workbooks and reference materials.
One netizen commented, “Smart move, madam.”
Another wrote, “Same here. The BAP money becomes school pocket money for the children, with some set aside to buy exercise books and reference books.”
Others echoed similar sentiments, with one saying, “Good idea. Thanks for sharing, madam,” while another added, “Did this yesterday too. Thank you, government.”
