A Singaporean woman allegedly struck it big at Genting Casino after winning a staggering RM31.9 million (S$10.3 million) jackpot from a slot machine, in what is believed to be the largest slot machine payout in the resort’s history.
According to China Press, the woman reportedly won the life-changing sum at around 2pm on Thursday while playing a Dragon Link slot machine at the casino.
The jackpot quickly became a hot topic online after Facebook user Rex Chang claimed the woman had won the prize with just a RM40 bet.
“The RM30 million-plus jackpot has finally exploded. Heard from an uncle that it was a Singaporean woman who hit the full jackpot with a RM40 bet,” he wrote.
China Press reported that the machine’s progressive jackpot had been accumulating for about a year, reportedly reaching RM12 million before continuing to snowball into the record-breaking RM31.9 million prize.
The game had reportedly attracted crowds of hopeful gamblers, including high rollers placing bets of up to RM880 per spin.
Netizens flooded social media with reactions ranging from disbelief to congratulations.
“Very, very awesome,” commented one user, Kee Guan Wong.
“Congratulations, congratulations!” another user wrote.
One amused commenter joked: “No need to register the car plate for toll anymore. Don’t even need to go up there anymore.”
