DC Studios’ first horror thriller Clayface follows a Hollywood actor’s descent into a revenge-driven Gotham monster.
DC Studios has released the teaser for Clayface, a horror thriller centred on the Gotham City villain.
Directed by James Watkins, the film stars Tom Rhys Harries in the title role and follows a rising Hollywood actor whose life takes a horrifying turn as he loses his identity and humanity.
The story also explores corrosive love, revenge and the darker side of scientific ambition.

The film marks DC Studios’ first move into the horror thriller genre, expanding its screen universe with a darker take on one of Batman’s more tragic villains.
Unlike many Gotham stories built around crime and vigilantism, Clayface appears to lean into body horror, obsession and transformation.
The cast also includes Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella, Eddie Marsan, Nancy Carroll and Joshua James.
Watkins directs from a screenplay by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, based on a story by Flanagan and characters from DC. The film is produced by Matt Reeves, Lynn Harris, James Gunn and Peter Safran.
The creative team includes director of photography Rob Hardy, production designer James Price, editor Jon Harris, visual effects supervisor Angus Bickerton, costume designer Keith Madden and casting director Lucy Bevan.
Clayface opens internationally from Oct 21 and in North America on Oct 23.
