PERAK: The Perak Religious Department is fighting for the cancellation of the upcoming Coldplay concert which will be held on Nov 22.

Recently, The Religious Department of Perak, Majlis Ulama ISMA (MUIS), issued an official statement opposing the idea of Coldplay’s concert next week and calling for its immediate cancellation.

MUIS declared that they believe it is inappropriate to hold a concert given the current situation in Gaza.

They have also advised Muslims not to go to the performance because “it is a sin for you to ignore what is happening in Palestine.”

In addition, the organisation requests that the show be cancelled out of respect.

They declared, “We are doing this out of respect for the Palestinians who are being bombed and attacked. Over 11,000 people have lost their lives as a result.”

MUIS also urged everyone to continue doing what they can to support the Palestinian people, including praying, giving, and raising awareness.

Meanwhile in Indonesia, religious groups have demanded that the event be cancelled by rioting just before Coldplay was scheduled to perform yesterday (Nov 15).
