PETALING JAYA: Residents of Pantai Panorama, Bangsar South Condominium, should practise self-water rationing to ensure that all residents are able to have equal access to water.

Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil said this to theSun when asked on the lack of water supply faced by residents of the condominium.

Fahmi explained the water cut at the location took place after a component of the water supply pipe leading to the condominium malfunctioned.

“Air Selangor immediately began restoration work. In the meantime what they have done is that they have set up a diversion water supply line.

“This has provided sufficient water to Pantai Panorama but the problem here is that because remedial and maintenance work took maybe about one and half to two days, whatever water that was in the condominium’s reserve water tanks has been fully spent.

“Given that everybody is at home this has compounded the problem and when Air Selangor tries to refill the water tanks and there are five water tanks for five blocks, what happens is that residents don’t receive a steady supply of water,“ Fahmi said.

Fahmi added that he has performed several tasks to ease the situation including having a discussion with the condo management to commence a water rationing scheme as well as well as having Air Selangor to bring in 12 water tankers to the location .

Fahmi said that the water rationing scheme would be sufficient until restoration works are completed either today or tomorrow.

“Until then, I hope residents of Pantai Panorama can practise water rationing to ensure that all residents enjoy uninterrupted water supply,“ he said.
