Azmin: I never doubted justice

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali (pix), who was alleged to have been one of two individuals involved in a viral gay sex video in June of last year, said he never doubted that justice would eventually prevail.

The Economic Affairs Minister’s statement came after Attorney-General (AG) Tommy Thomas said no individuals would be charged in connection to the videos.

“As I have stressed since the beginning, the slanderous videos is just a malicious attempt to damage my political career. However, I have never doubted that justice would come up top.

“I thank Allah for this victory of truth over evil, and I pray that no other individuals will fall victim to dirty politics like this again,” he said in a statement, here today.

Earlier, Thomas said there would be no prosecution against any individuals in relation to the videos, as forensic experts were unable to conclusively identify the persons in the videos based on facial recognition analysis, due to the poor quality of the clips.

Azmin also thanked his wife and children for the trust they had in him and the constant support they have given him throughout the ordeal.

“From the bottom of my heart, I would also like to thank my friends and the rakyat for the strong continuous support.

“Lastly, I call for an end to gutter politics and personal attacks. Instead, let’s live by constructive discourses and critical ideas on shared prosperity, the people’s well-being and nation building,” he added.
