JOHOR BARU: A baby boy was found abandoned behind a rubbish bin at a bus stop in Jalan Mahmoodiah, here, yesterday.

Johor Baru Selatan district police chief, ACP Mohd Padzli Mohd Zain said the baby, believed to be about 16 days old, was found by members of the public at about 6.15pm bundled in a piece of cloth.

A milk bottle was found next to him.

“No personal documents were found on the baby,“ he said in a statement, today.

He said his team was still tracking the individual responsible for abandoning the baby.

The baby has been taken to Sultanah Aminah Hospital here for further action and the case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
