PETALING JAYA: Datuk M. Chandran, one of the top footballers in Malaysia’s history, died this morning.

The former Selangor team captain passed away at his residence in Ampang Jaya at 7.30am today.

He was 77 years-old.

Chandran is remembered as the captain of the national team which qualified for the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Family and friends can pay their last respects at No 7, Jalan 4, Ampang Jaya from 12.30pm onwards after which cremation will be done at the Sentul Cremation Ground, near AthiEswaran Temple, at 5pm today.
