KUALA LUMPUR: A 25-year-old man with a history of mental illness fell to his death inside the Suria KLCC shopping mall in the city centre here today.
Dang Wangi police chief ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said today that police were alerted to the incident after receiving a call from the public at 1.52pm.
He said after examining recordings of closed-circuit television cameras installed at the mall, investigators learnt that the man had plunged to the ground from the fourth floor.
Mohamad Zainal said in a shoulder bag the victim carried, police found a medical appointment card belonging to him for psychiatric treatment at a hospital in Klang.
He said the victims body was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post mortem and the case is classified as sudden death.
Photos and videos of the victimâs body sprawled on the ground and taken by shoppers at the mall was widely shared in the social media.
