KUALA LUMPUR: The traffic on major highways has been smooth with no congestions reported as of 10 pm tonight.

A spokesman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said the traffic flow at the Jalan Duta toll plaza (northbound), Sungai Besi toll plaza (southbound) and Gombak toll plaza (East Coast bound) was under control and the volume of vehicles was not high.

“Traffic on the KL-Karak Highway (KLK) and East Coast Highway 1 (LPT1) heading to Kuantan and LPT 2 has been smooth so far, just like ordinary days. It is the same situation at the Bentong toll, with no vehicle increase,“ he told Bernama tonight.

However, traffic was reported to be slow from Parit Buntar, Perak to Nibong Tebal, Penang and from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan to Melaka.

The PLUS Trafik official X account said traffic was smooth but slow-moving due to a vehicle breakdown.

“A lorry broke down at KM271.3 southbound from Nilai to Bandar Ainsdale. The middle lane is blocked. Traffic is under control. Traffic is also slow southbound from Sedenak to Senai, Johor. Drive safe,” the post said. - Bernama
