MELAKA: The Tourism Sports and Recreation Month held to usher in the Visit Malaysia Year 2024 (VMY 2024), and themed ‘Lets Fit Together’ will feature various attractions, including traditional sports throughout the month of May 2024.
Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said the Tourism Month scheduled in May 2024 will serve as an attraction to boost tourism in the state.
“In conjunction with VMY 2024, there will be a theme for every month and when the Tourism Sports Month arrives, we will organise various activities to attract tourists to the state, be it local or from overseas.
“Traditional sports will also be included in the programme for the Month of Tourism Sports to create a carnival atmosphere for the visiting tourists. This will turn Melaka into a tourist destination with its own attractions,” he said after attending and officiating the Melaka Football Association Congress (MAFA) in Banda Hilir, here today.
He added that among the selected activities are football, netball and other exciting sports. – Bernama
